Braemar Tennis Pavilion: A New Chapter

Plans for the future of our tennis pavilion are moving forward. Our aim is to create a replacement that retains the character of the existing building.

Over the past few months, a pavilion working group has explored options for repair or replacement. Following professional advice and a thorough structural survey, the group concluded that the current pavilion is unsafe and cannot feasibly be repaired. These findings have been shared with the Tennis and Golf Club committees.

The Club has therefore decided to replace the pavilion with a sympathetic, like-for-like structure. The next step is to use existing funds to develop a concept design and establish the estimated cost of replacement.
Once the design and overall costs are confirmed, a fundraising team will be formed to help turn the plans into reality. When sufficient funding is secured, the design team will invite tenders and appoint a suitable contractor.
Where feasible, the Club will use local contractors and materials and explore whether any intact internal features can be preserved—keeping a little of the old pavilion’s history in its next chapter.

Thank you to everyone who has helped bring the project to this point. We look forward to sharing further updates as the plans take shape.
